Attending the IP Live Chat on Animation at IPOPHL

On February 24, 2025, I had the opportunity to attend the IP Live Chat on Animation at the IPOPHL Multipurpose Hall, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. It was an insightful event that brought together industry experts to discuss intellectual property (IP) and its role in animation and creative content.

The panel featured notable speakers, including:
šŸ”¹ Atty. Emerson Cuyo ā€“ Director, IPOPHL Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights
šŸ”¹ Derek Kunhee ā€“ U.S. IP Attorney in Seoul
šŸ”¹ Marla Rausch ā€“ President, Creative Content Creators Association of the Philippines (SIKAP)
šŸ”¹ Ronnie Del Carmen ā€“ Director & Story Writer, Pixar and Netflix
šŸ”¹ Rianne Hill Soriano ā€“ President, Tuldok Animation Studios

Hearing their insights on copyright protection, creative rights, and the future of animation was both inspiring and educational. They shared valuable perspectives on how IP laws impact the animation industry, the challenges of protecting creative works, and the importance of fostering a strong creative economy.

I also took some photos and videos of the event using my Olympus E-M5 Mark II, capturing moments from the discussion. Events like these are essential in educating and empowering creatives, ensuring that artists and content creators understand how to protect their work in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Looking forward to more discussions like this in the future!
