THE ART OF MEL CASIPIT

This saturday, February 9, 2013 me together with my good friends in comics, will attend the Komikon Baguio.  for details please see the pictures below. I was also invited to talk about the Independent Comics scene in the country. Watch out for us and see you all at the event! :) 

Komikon Indieket. The First Komikon Grand  Independent Komiks Market 2012. Held at  Bayanihan Center, Pasig city last July 14, 2012. Habang fresh pa ang alala, nais kong magblog sa  event na ito. Noong malaman ko na may Indieket  agad akong gumawa ng bagong issue ng Mukat yun  yung issue no. 6. Balak ko kasi talagang maglabas  ng bagong Issue ng Mukat sa bawat convention na  pupuntahan ko. Ayun na nga, gumising ako ng  maaga para event na Indie sa araw ng Hulyo 14,  mga 8:00 kahit medyo late na akong natulog maaga  pa rin akong nagising siguro dahil sa excitement. Dumating ako sa Bayanihan center ng mga 9:15am, dahil wala pa sila Aaron at Wan kape-kape muna ako sa Jollibee, sorry di ako mahilig sa starbucks hehe. Pagbukas ng event ng 10am kasama kong pumasok sa loob ng Bayanihan center si Kai at dumiretso kami sa table ng Neverheard Webcomics. Hindi na kami nahirapan sa paghanap ng t...

It has been a very busy week,  a lot of things to do, I don't want to detail it, I just want to share hehe. I can handle it anyway, all it is, is about time management. I was able to finish a couple caricature for Joy Ann and was able to start drawing a commission illustrations.  Please come and join us this saturday July 14, 2012 at the very first Independent Comics market in in Philippines the Komikon Indieket, organised by the ever so supportive Komikon inc. This will be the cover of the latest Mukat installment! I'm very excited to release this issue! the Cover will introduce 2 new characters hence the cover. This July 14, 2012 catch me together with my fellow comics artist's/creators to showcase the Pinoy Komiks very much alive!

A request from komikon organizers to do a caricature for Freely Abrigo, Heubert Khan Micheal and Elmer Damaso, who am I to say no! :D These artist are my Idols, they are really at their best in what they do. I made the caricature just before I went to Summer Komikon 2012 last saturday, May 26, It was a really fun event! Thanks to all of those who drop by Neverheard Webcomics table and bought our Komiks, see you all next time! :D 

100 ARAW NG KOMIKS (Day 7) Komikon Comics Creation Comics Entries Compilation (2010) Unang lumabas noong 2010 Komikon sa Starmall EDSA. Naisipan kong lipunin sa isang Indie Comics Compilation ang mga nagwagi kong Indie Comics sa Komikon. Una ay ang Baboy(2008), DogStyle(summer 2009) at ang MLU (Oct 2009). May paunang salita rito ang  editor ng Pinoy Komiks Rebyu na si Randy Valiente, at afterword naman mula kay Freely Abrigo (SKP). Dumadami na kasi ang mga nagawa kong indie kaya naisipan kong pag-isahin na lang. Ito ang pinakamabili kong Indie Komiks sa lahat ng nagawa ko na. Lagi ko itong sinasuggest na billhin nila pag tinatanong ako kung ano ang mairerekomenda ko. masaya ako sa komiks kong ito dahil dito ay nakilala ako sa mundo ng komiks. Lalo na sa mundo ng indie Komiks sa Pilipinas.

‎100 ARAW NG KOMIKS (Day 4) MLU (Madramang Lambingan sa Umaga (2009) - ang pangatlo kong Indie Comics na sinali sa Komikon noong October 18, 2009. Sumali muli ako sa Comics Creation Contest at nanalo bilang Best Entry. "Mula sa Kaiboturan ng Aking Puso" ang tema nung panahong iyon isang Love/Drama themed comics ang kailangang gawin. M y kasintahan ako nung panahong yun kaya naisipan kong gumawa ng komiks at isali ang tungkol sa amin, (hnd true-to-life ang story ha) kami ang ginawa kong bida hehe. Bago ko pa man ginawa ang komiks kong MLU ay nagdodrawing na ako ng mga cute na doodle naming dalawa. Andami ko ngang naipong ganung drawing na ang karamihan ay nasa kanya. Hanggang ngayon, paminsa-minsan ay gumagawa pa rin ako ng mga doodle pero hnd iba na ang dinodrawing kong babae, kasi ex ko na siya ngayon. Malapit rin sa puso ko ang MLU komiks, andami rin kasing nagka-gusto sa mga nakapagbasa na. Binabalak ko ngang gawan ng sequel ang MLU comics ko, hindi ko pa ala kung kelan...

3rd Summer Komikon 2011 Bayanihan Center 8008 Pioneer St., Kapitolyo Sabado, Abril 16 · 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Abangan ang AKDA booth kasama ang Mukat Comics! :D It's been a while since I last updated this blog.
